Ego bruises
Stella may have learned a valuable lesson about jumping on people today. After walking a couple of miles we headed for the dog park. Stella started off by introducing herself to a Bull Mastiff (she always goes straight to the biggest dog in the park, woman after my own heart). Things were going great and then she excitedly jumped on the Mastiff's owner. He brushed her off but I saw the curtain fall over the Mastiff's eyes and Stella got nailed, fast and furious, by a dog three times her size. There was some screaming and quite a lot of smack talk after that. The couple with the dog were on their way out so Stella shook it off and despite some minor bleeding from her neck and ear went on to have a pretty good time. Right after this incident I was a little worried about her emotional state and then this beautiful little puppy came galloping over and proceeded to give her a head bath. That was all it took to heal us both.

The mastiff's overreaction to Stella's exuberance was totally unfair. I hope the owners realize that and think about further training.
I'm glad Stella got head kisses to ease her pain.
Wow talk about a protective dog!
I too am glad Stella got some kisses!
Miss M used to have a problem where she wanted to play and would totally charge other dogs. She didn't understand corrections, they took it as a threat, and she was attacked a couple of times. Since she matured she started understanding corrections.
Awww...poor baby! Our little Lulu got nailed as she was saving her brother (a ShshTzu) from a Pit Bull and has been sooo skidish after that that we find it very stressful to take her to the off-leash dog park anymore..they do get their feelings hurt! Give Stella some Utah hugs from Braxton & Lulu (or would that be butt-sniffs??)

Lol, will do Colleen, thanks all. Schwang, Stella and Miss M might be cousins. She did the same to that bulldog (from the last post). Tipped it like a cow (which was rude but also a little funny)
