The end of winter walking

Just pictures mostly. I was going to write something about how regularly walking a dog, you get to see an awful lot of things you wouldn't ordinarily have noticed. Whether you're out in the woods or in the heart of the city, if you're there in the same places throughout a season, you see the changes in a much more intimate way.

I wasn't much of a walker before Stella came along. I spent a a lot of time outdoors working but at those times, I was usually focused (literally) on other things. It may sound outlandish to some but I really feel that walking twice a day has reset my circadian rhythm. I sleep better, I have more energy & less anxiety and I've decided that if everyone who has a dog started walking it twice a day, there might be a lot less Ambien in the world (possibly a few less newspapers too).

Stay tuned for The Kitten Report...

That's a GREAT shot Stella. I love her girly, doggy, speckledy face.

Can't wait to see those kittens!!!

I love that picture of Stella! great contrast and Stella just gets more stunning!

I miss walking. dirtville is not an inspirational place to walk. as a matter of fact it's pretty freaking demotivational!

Thanks Susan, GSC. Believe it or not, I thought of Dirtville when I was writing. Clearly there are circumstances where walking just isn't in the cards. I find myself wishing for open spaces where Stella could run free more often too or someplace we could find an even split maybe hmm...

You can always come to my yard! We tried to walk one day last week, and the crippled hip and the crippled toe sent me limping back home within 15 minutes. Grrr.

By the way, I LOVE those plants in the second pic. Maypods? (Something like that?)

I totally agree Kari, it's a relief. Susan: those are Trillium if I'm not mistaken - they make me think of fairy tale settings for some odd reason. Beverly: we may be there faster than you think :)
